Prothonotary Warbler late April 2023 Photo by DaveDeReamus
How many times have you been frustrated because you saw a warbler near the top of a tree and got such a poor look at the head and wings that you couldn’t identify it?
But you probably got good views of the underside of the bird----the throat, the breast, the belly, and especially, the under-tail coverts and the tail. Many birders concentrate on a warbler’s head pattern for identification. And it IS important in most cases. But many don’t realize that the tail area of warblers can be a big help with identifying them, as I will hope to show you during this program.
Hope you can join us as LVAS’s Dave DeReamus gets us prepared for our Spring Birding Outings!
Let us know you’re coming &/or invite others to join us on these walks through our Meetup, Facebook, Instagram or by sharing this page.
Never miss an event!
