Lehigh Valley Audubon Society (LVAS) connects with young and old, beginner and expert to share in learning about and enjoying birds. We help people gain an appreciation of nature by instilling a love of local birds and habitat.
Programs for the Public
Bird walks and nature hikes into a wide variety of habitats, with morning, evening and full day trips.

COMMUNITY outreach
Outreach topics cover birds as well as habitat needs including the importance of native plants in residential yards.
Educational outreach to schools and school children: LVAS participates in assisting schools to plan and implement science curricula and nature activities
Community Education: Volunteers host educational field trips aimed at novice birdwatchers of all ages.
We host talks at libraries, garden clubs, and community centers.
LVAS participates in community events:
Support youth organizations in earning nature badges, providing birding backpacks through libraries
Activities and tables at community events.
LVAS has been documenting our local birds for over ninety years and published data in a book, Birds of the Lehigh Valley and Vicinity.
Our own print run is sold out, but you can still purchase copies through Amazon. We’re starting to update the book for future publication.
