Join us on a bird walk at Louise Moore Park.

This Northampton County park hosts a combination of habitats including meadows, old growth forests, native plantings, and stormwater management facilities which will attract a variety of birds.

Meet at the western parking lot for Louise Moore Park, located off Country Club Road (GPS coordinates 40.691970, -75.294496 see map).

Note that there are driveways for the Park on both sides of Country Club Road; we will be meeting in the parking lot on the west side of the road.

We'll scan the lake for waterfowl and walk the trails in search of songbirds as spring migrants start to push through.

The southern side of the Blue Mountain is a great location for late migrants, while also having a good variety of local breeding birds such as Prairie Warbler, Hooded Warbler, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, and Scarlet Tanager.

This walk will also help participants learn how to ID certain species by ear.

Approximately 4 miles of walking involved.

Birding field trip to Maple Tract Preserve in Monroe County.

This Wildlands Conservancy Preserve is home to many warblers including Canada, Magnolia, Blackburnian, and Northern Waterthrush, which nest in the area.

Meet at the parking lot located at 271 Stoney Hollow Road, Long Pond, PA located at coordinates 41.074071, -75.505535.

Recommend bringing bug spray and wearing waterproof hiking boots.
